Name: Mark
Type of disability: C 5-6 Quadriplegic
Married, Kids: Married and have one 24-year-old daughter

If there was one thing that you wish people better understood about your specific type of disability, what would it be?
I wish people wouldn't make assumptions. If they've heard just a little bit about spinal cord injuries, they assume the worst. If I only did a list of how I was physically impacted, people would count me out of certain activities because they would think that I couldn't do them. They assume instead of ask. I like to do anything anybody else does. I like to go swimming. I like to fish. I enjoy cooking. I just may do it differently or sometimes need help.

One thing that people can do to make other people who have your type of disability feel more included, whether it is at work, school, or another community organization would be...
If you don't know, ask me and listen.

What would you say is your greatest source of pride?
Faith, family, friends and involvement in my community.
